The Second Steering Committee Meeting of the “Restoring Marine Ecosystem Connectivity in South-West Türkiye with Network of Marine Protected Areas Boosting Climate Change Resilience” Project was held on 31 July 2026 at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Department of Project Implementation under the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, acting as the Contracting Authority; the General Directorate for Protection of Natural Assets, acting as the End Recipient; the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the contractor, GOPA Worldwide Consultants GmbH and IPCEU International Project Consultancy Inc.; as well as relevant public institutions and organizations.

Following the opening remarks and adoption of the agenda, the Progress Report covering the period from 8 March to 7 June 2026 was presented. The presentation addressed the project’s overall implementation status, major achievements and milestones, progress against project outputs, and communication and visibility activities.

The meeting continued with discussions on the technical activities planned for the next reporting period, capacity-building and communication activities, and key implementation milestones. Following the exchange of views and assessments among the participants, the meeting concluded with a summary of the key decisions and agreed actions, as well as closing remarks.
