Aysun ŞAHİN graduated from the Department of Physics Engineering at Ankara University in 1999. In 2002, she joined the Ammunition Factory of the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE), where she worked for 19 years in engineering, quality, research and development, and a range of other technical processes. Serving in various positions, including Incoming Quality Engineer, R&D Engineer and Chief R&D Engineer, she contributed to many important defence projects and gained extensive experience.

In 2022, she transferred to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change and began working at the Directorate General for EU and Foreign Relations. Starting in the Tendering Unit, she took part in managing the tendering processes of EU-funded projects, including the preparation of tender dossiers and tender evaluation procedures. In 2024, she moved to the Quality Assurance and Control Unit as a Quality Control and Accreditation Specialist. Following the restructuring that divided the departments, she was appointed Acting Head of the Quality Control Unit at the Department of Project Implementation in May 2026, a position she continues to hold.

She is married and a mother of two.

 

The duties of the Quality Control Unit are as follows:

• Controlling tender documentation received from the Procurement Unit and addenda received from the Contract Management Unit;
• Responding to inspection reports drafted by inspectors in coordination with the Department of Project Preparation and Monitoring and preparing and implementing action plans regarding inspection findings;
• Carrying out irregularity reporting;
• Preparing the risk management plan;
• Preparing and updating documents related to human resources management, and coordinating workload analysis and training needs analysis efforts; and
• Conducting other duties assigned by the Department Head.
