The Third Steering Committee Meeting of the EU-funded “Restoring Marine Ecosystem Connectivity in Southwest Türkiye with Network of Marine Protected Areas Boosting Climate Change Resilience Project” (DEG Türkiye) was held in Ankara on 9 October 2026, hosted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change.

The meeting was attended by Şermin Özdemir, Head of the Department of Project Implementation at the Ministry’s General Directorate of EU and Foreign Relations, alongside representatives of the Ministry’s relevant departments, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Directorate for EU Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Climate Change Presidency, the Coast Guard Command and the contractor.

Participants reviewed the project’s implementation status, progress towards its outputs, and communication and visibility activities, based on the progress report covering 8 June–7 September 2026.
