The 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the Technical Assistance for the Evaluation of Türkiye’s Potential for Transition to Circular Economy (DEEP) Project was held

The 5th Steering Committee Meeting of the Technical Assistance for the Evaluation of Türkiye’s Potential for Transition to Circular Economy (DEEP) Project was held in with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and institutions under the chairmanship of Sabahattin Dökmeci, Deputy General Manager of Environmental Management.

Dökmeci asked for continued efforts to move forward with healthy data throughout the project.

Project Team Leader Mihail Dimovski stated that they took care to build bridges between local experts and EU experts throughout the project. “This project will be a turning point for the Turkish economy,” Dimovski said.

Sabriye Ayhan, who was recently appointed as the Head of the Circular Economy and Waste Management Department, said that they attach great importance to the project and that the sectors have great expectations.

Ayhan emphasized the importance of cooperation between ministries and institutions in ensuring the flow of data and said, “Now, in order to open up to the European market, it will be necessary to transition to the circular economy, starting with raw materials.”
