The Kick-Off Meeting of our project “Improving Monitoring in Ambient Air Quality in Compliance to CAFE Directive (2008/50/EC)” financed by the European Union was held on 21.05.2025 within our Ministry.
The Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of EIA Permit and Inspection Mr. Fatih EKMEKÇİ, our Head of the Department of European Union Investments Mr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Raci BAYER, the Presidency of the EU, all relevant Ministries, representatives of all relevant institutions and representatives of the consultant companies that are contractors was attended the meeting.
The contract of the project, for which the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations / EU Investments Department is the Contracting Authority and the End Beneficiary is the General Directorate of EIA Permit and Inspection, was signed on 16 April 2025 and the project was officially started as of 8 May 2025.
The project aims to develop institutional capacity in air quality measurement and monitoring systems and to support national and regional calibration laboratories in the context of ambient air quality in line with the EU’s Cleaner Air for Europe (CAFE) Directive.
Basically, within the scope of the project;
- Technical assistance will be provided to our beneficiary institutions to more effectively implement the EU Air Quality Legislation, especially the CAFE Directive.
- In essence, preparation of technical documents and guides for different target groups, preparation of accreditation application documents and organization of training and visits will be provided.
- Personnel will be trained to have the competence to implement the accreditation process.
